Documents & KYC

VitalHops requires identity verification (KYC — Know Your Customer) to ensure the security of your account and the validity of your estate planning.

KYC Verification

Why KYC is Required

KYC verification helps:

  • Confirm your identity for legal and security purposes
  • Protect against unauthorized account creation
  • Ensure the validity of nominee designations
  • Comply with regulatory requirements

Eligibility

Before submitting KYC documents, you must:

  • Complete your profile (personal information and address)
  • Accept the data processing consent

Accepted Documents

For UAE Nationals (Emiratis)

  • Emirates ID — Front and back images
  • Driver's License — Front and back images

For Non-UAE Nationals

  • Emirates ID (required) — Front and back images
  • Driver's License — Front and back images
  • Passport — Photo page

Submitting KYC Documents

  1. Navigate to the KYC section from your dashboard or profile
  2. Select your document type
  3. Upload the required images:
    • Front side of the document
    • Back side of the document (where applicable)
    • Selfie holding the document
  4. Enter your document number
  5. Review all uploads for clarity and accuracy
  6. Click Submit for Verification

Image Requirements

  • Format: JPG or PNG
  • Clear, high-quality images with all text readable
  • No glare, shadows, or obstructions
  • All four corners of the document visible

KYC Status

After submission, your KYC status will be one of:

PendingYour documents are being reviewed
ApprovedVerification successful — full access granted
RejectedVerification failed — see rejection reason
  • You'll receive a notification when your KYC status changes
  • If rejected, you can review the reason and resubmit with corrected documents

Asset Documents

Beyond KYC, VitalHops lets you attach documents to individual assets:

Supported File Types

  • Images (PNG, JPG, JPEG)
  • PDFs
  • Spreadsheets (XLS, XLSX)
  • Documents (DOC, DOCX)

Managing Asset Documents

  1. Open any asset's detail page
  2. Navigate to the Documents section
  3. Click Upload Document
  4. Select your file and add a description
  5. Documents are securely stored and accessible anytime

Document Features

  • Secure cloud storage with encrypted access
  • Preview images and PDFs directly in the app
  • Download documents for offline use
  • Search and filter documents across your portfolio
  • Track upload dates for version management

Security & Privacy

  • All documents are stored using encrypted cloud storage (AWS S3)
  • Access is controlled through signed URLs with expiration
  • Documents are only accessible by the account owner
  • KYC documents are handled in compliance with data protection regulations
  • Documents are permanently deleted when you delete your account
