Nominee Management

Nominees are the trusted individuals you designate to receive your assets. VitalHops makes it simple to add nominees, assign assets, and ensure your wishes are clearly documented.

Adding a Nominee

  1. Navigate to the Nominees section from your dashboard
  2. Click Add Nominee
  3. Fill in the required information:
    • Full name
    • Relationship (Parent, Spouse, Child, Sibling, etc.)
    • Email address and phone number
    • Date of birth
    • Address details
  4. Optionally add an alternate phone number and identification number
  5. Click Save

Nominee Types

Primary Nominee

The primary nominee is the main beneficiary for an asset. You can designate one primary nominee per asset.

Secondary Nominee

Secondary nominees serve as backup beneficiaries if the primary nominee is unavailable.

Minor Nominees

If a nominee is under 18 years of age:

  • Guardian information is required
  • The guardian manages the asset on behalf of the minor
  • Guardian contact details must be provided

Digital Asset Operators

For digital assets like cryptocurrencies and e-wallets, you can designate a guardian with specific permissions to access and manage these assets.

Allocating Assets to Nominees

Once you've added nominees, you can allocate your assets:

  1. Go to an asset's detail page
  2. Click Allocate to Nominee or navigate to the allocation section
  3. Select a nominee from your list
  4. Set the percentage allocation for that nominee
  5. Optionally designate them as the primary nominee for the asset
  6. Add any inheritance instructions or notes
  7. Save the allocation

Allocation Rules

  • Total allocation across all nominees for a single asset can be up to 100%
  • You can allocate the same asset to multiple nominees with different percentages
  • Each allocation can include specific notes or instructions

Islamic Inheritance Support

VitalHops supports Sharia-compliant asset distribution:

  • Automatic calculation based on Islamic inheritance rules
  • Proper distribution ratios for family members
  • Compliant allocation suggestions

Nominee Documentation

For each nominee, you can upload:

  • ID card or identification documents
  • Any legal documents related to inheritance
  • Emergency contact information

Managing Nominees

Editing a Nominee

  1. Go to the Nominees section
  2. Click on the nominee you want to edit
  3. Update their information
  4. Save changes

Removing a Nominee

  1. Open the nominee's profile
  2. Click Delete
  3. Confirm the removal

Removing a nominee also removes all their asset allocations. Make sure to reassign those assets to other nominees.

Best Practices

  • Add at least one nominee for every asset
  • Keep nominee contact details up to date
  • Add alternate contact methods (phone, email) for reliability
  • Document clear instructions for complex assets
  • Review allocations regularly to ensure they reflect your current wishes
  • Use the AI Assistant to identify assets that still need nominees assigned
