The VitalHops Onboarding Experience

We've designed the VitalHops onboarding process to be fast, secure, and straightforward. Whether you prefer signing up with your email or using your Google account, you can go from zero to a fully verified account in just a few minutes. This guide walks you through every step so you know exactly what to expect.

Step 1: Create Your Account

Head to vitalhops.com and click Sign Up. VitalHops is a Progressive Web App, so there's nothing to download — it works directly in your browser on any device.

Option A: Sign Up with Email

1. Click Sign Up with Email
2. Enter your email address
3. Create a strong password — we recommend using a mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters
4. Click Create Account

After submitting, VitalHops sends a verification email to your inbox. Open the email and click the Verify Email link to confirm your account. If you don't see the email within a minute or two, check your spam or junk folder. Once verified, you can log in and begin the onboarding process.

Option B: Sign Up with Google

If you prefer a faster route, click Continue with Google. This uses Google OAuth to securely authenticate you without needing to create a separate password for VitalHops.

1. Click Continue with Google
2. Select your Google account from the popup
3. Grant the required permissions
4. You're in — no email verification needed since Google has already verified your identity

Whether you choose email or Google, your account is protected with 256-bit SSL encryption from the moment it's created.

Step 2: Set Your Password (Google Users)

If you signed up with Google and want the flexibility of also logging in with a password, you can set one up from your account settings at any time. This gives you a backup login method and is entirely optional.

For email signups, you already set your password during registration, so you can skip ahead.

Step 3: The Onboarding Wizard

Once you're logged in for the first time, VitalHops launches the onboarding wizard — a guided, step-by-step process that takes about three to five minutes. The wizard is organized into four phases:

1. Welcome — A quick overview of what's ahead
2. Profile Completion — Your personal details and addresses
3. KYC Verification — Identity document upload and selfie
4. Completion — You're ready to use the platform

A progress bar at the top shows exactly where you are at every stage, so you always know how much is left.

Welcome Screen

The wizard opens with a welcome screen that greets you by name and outlines the key features you'll unlock by completing onboarding:

• Asset Tracking — Centralize all your assets in one secure place
• Nominee Management — Assign beneficiaries to every asset
• Keep Alive — Automated notifications to emergency contacts if your account goes inactive
• Bank-Grade Security — Your data is encrypted and protected to the highest standards

Step 4: Personal Information

The first real step collects your basic personal details:

• First Name and Last Name — as they appear on your official documents
• Date of Birth — you must be at least 16 years old to use VitalHops
• Religion — used for the Sharia-based inheritance calculator
• Nationality — determines which document types are available during KYC

Phone Number Verification

You'll also enter your phone number, which requires a quick verification:

1. Enter your phone number
2. Click Send OTP — a 6-digit one-time password is sent to your registered email
3. Enter the OTP in the verification field
4. Your phone number is marked as verified

If you didn't receive the code, you can request a new one after a short cooldown period. Phone verification is required before you can proceed to the next step.

Step 5: UAE Address

Next, you'll provide your current residential address in the UAE:

• Street Address
• City
• State / Emirate
• ZIP Code

This information is needed for compliance purposes and to ensure your records are complete.

Step 6: Home Country Address

If your home country is different from the UAE, this step collects your permanent address:

• Street Address
• City
• State / Province
• Country — selected from a dropdown list
• ZIP Code

Once you complete this step, your profile information is saved to the VitalHops servers. The wizard automatically submits your profile data so you don't have to worry about losing your progress.

Step 7: KYC Verification

KYC (Know Your Customer) verification is a critical part of the onboarding process. It confirms your identity and ensures the security of the platform for all users.

Choose Your Document Type

First, select the type of identity document you want to use for verification:

• Emirates ID — available to all users
• Driver's License — available to all users
• Passport — available to non-UAE nationals only

The options shown depend on your nationality, which you provided earlier.

Enter Your Document Number

Enter the identification number from your chosen document. This is your Emirates ID number, license number, or passport number.

Upload Document Images

Now upload clear photos of your identity document:

• For Emirates ID or Driver's License: Upload both the front and back of the document
• For Passport: Upload the photo page only

File requirements:

• Format: JPG or PNG
• Maximum size: 5 MB per image
• Make sure the document details are clearly visible and not blurred

You can drag and drop files or click the upload button. A preview is shown so you can verify the image before proceeding.

Take a Selfie

The final KYC step asks you to upload a selfie of yourself holding your identity document next to your face. This photo is used for identity matching to confirm that the document belongs to you.

Tips for a good selfie:

• Hold your document at face level
• Ensure good lighting with no shadows
• Make sure both your face and the document details are clearly visible
• Use the same file format requirements (JPG/PNG, under 5 MB)

Once you upload your selfie, VitalHops submits all your KYC documents for verification.

Step 8: You're All Set

After your KYC submission, you'll see the completion screen confirming that your onboarding is finished. From here, you can:

• Add your assets — properties, bank accounts, investments, vehicles, and more
• Assign nominees — designate beneficiaries for each asset
• Set up Keep Alive — configure emergency contact notifications
• Explore the AI Assistant — get insights and answers about your portfolio
• Create a digital will — start planning your estate

Click Go to Dashboard to enter your fully set up VitalHops account.

What If I Need to Pause and Come Back?

No problem. VitalHops saves your progress automatically. If you close the browser or navigate away during onboarding, you'll pick up right where you left off the next time you log in. If your profile is already saved but KYC isn't complete, the wizard will start directly at the KYC phase.

You'll also see a progress card on your dashboard showing your onboarding completion status, with quick-access buttons to resume any incomplete steps.

Security Throughout the Process

Every step of the onboarding process is designed with security in mind:

• 256-bit SSL encryption protects all data in transit
• Email and phone verification ensures account ownership
• Google OAuth provides secure, password-less authentication
• KYC verification prevents fraudulent accounts
• UAE PDPL compliance guarantees your personal data is handled responsibly
• Two-factor authentication (2FA) can be enabled for additional protection

Your identity documents and selfie are stored securely and used solely for verification purposes, in full compliance with UAE data protection regulations.
